“At the end of each day, it is good practice to write and review your day. “…Reviewing the day’s events…running backwards through the day from bedtime to dawn. Don’t ponder or comment too much on what happened — just watch. This exercise is a way of unraveling those experiences. It cuts down on the need for lots of trivial dreams, where the mind processes things that happened during the day. It’s like moving backwards in time; it’s a discipline to do just as you fall asleep so that you notice your life. [However the trick is to not judge your life – only observe it.] Life will not be just passing you by; you’re taking your time to notice it. In reviewing the day’s events, it unclutters the mind and allows you to go to sleep in a very pure state of consciousness. Much of the inner communication you have with the all-knowing of Infinite Self is initially at night.
If you have a particular problem on your mind, put it up for review during the night. Ask your Infinite (Divine) Self to consider it. Say, “Tonight I want to review this particular situation. Please provide the answer to my problem by the morning.” Next day, either when you wake or later on, ideas and solutions will drift into your mind. Doing the process allows you to establish a more solid communication between your intellectual-emotional self, which is doing the day-to-day living, and the Infinite Self within that is the real you.”1
